Watershed is pleased to be managing the installation of one of the largest Solar Domestic Hot Water systems in Toronto. The large-scale commercial system is slated to become operational in the first quarter of 2010 and will provide up to 40% of the hot water for a 128-unit midrise apartment building.

The system uses 100 evacuated-tube type solar panels and a drain-back arrangement to ensure maximum solar gain during sunny periods, and freeze-protection when the sun goes down. A monitoring system will provide a web-based interface for the system so that energy production can be constantly monitored and compared to projected performance.
