Cogeneration Installation Project Management

In 2008, Watershed was chosen to project manage the installation of a sophisticated natural-gas fired co-generation system being installed on the roof of a large high-profile downtown apartment building. This complex installation, involving structural, electrical and mechanical engineering, also required close coordination with contractors, funders, maintenance personnel, permitting authorities and building tenants. Hoisting the 32,000 lbs cogeneration system container onto the roof of the building required the use of one of the largest ground mounted cranes in North America. When in operation, this system provides heating and electricity for the building from the same fuel, as well as acting as the back-up emergency power source for the entire building.

Cogeneration can often be an attractive yet complex option for building owners. With years of experience in these systems, Watershed can help to make sense of the factors involved in choosing a cogeneration system.Contact Us to learn more.
